Eleni Tsami

Born in 1982 in Athens, Greece, I have been painting mostly as a hobby for the last ten years. I have a strong preference for character concepts and dark/fantasy-influenced settings, but like to experiment with themes, moods and genres in sometimes unexpected ways. I am moved by energy and tension in both colour and form. I try to make this present in my work.

I find a digital environment ideal to work in, as it is both compact and multi-faceted, giving me ease of use and capacity for limitless experimentation, whereas colours are self-illuminated and feel purer. I will resort to pen and paper for initial sketches and concepts, but digital is always the next and final step.

Among my favourite artists the first to list (and unlikely to fall our of favor) are El Greco, J. M. W. Turner and M. C. Escher.
